Disposal
The oxygen self-rescuer is to be disposed of after use.
7.1
General
The oxygen self-rescuer must not be disposed of as household waste.
It must be disposed of in accordance with the applicable waste
disposal regulations or via a suitable disposal company. Refer to the
safety data sheet for further information.
7.2
Disposal by the Customer
WARNING
!
Fire hazard!
Keep the oxygen self-rescuer away from combustible
substances!
CAUTION
!
Risk of chemical burns!
The chemicals in the oxygen self-rescuer react with the
humidity in the atmosphere or water to form a caustic base.
The base causes severe eye damage and skin irritation, it can
also irritate the respiratory system.
Use protective goggles and base-resistant gloves when
working with the oxygen self-rescuer.
1. Remove the starter from the functional part.
2. Remove the KO
cartridge from the casing and submerge it in a

large quantity of water until no more gas bubbles rise to the
surface.
3. Neutralise the resulting solution with a 3% acid (e. g. hydrochloric
acid).
4. Dispose of the components of the oxygen self-rescuer, separated
by type, in accordance with the applicable regulations.

Disposal by Dräger
You can return this product to Dräger at a charge. A decision on its
subsequent use will be made when the product is returned. Please
contact the national marketing organisations and Dräger for further
information.
Prepare damaged, opened, used up or expired oxygen self-rescuers
as follows:
For opened or damaged oxygen self-rescuers, trigger the starter
before the transport. For unopened devices, the starter does not
need to be triggered.
Put the oxygen self-rescuer into a hermetically sealed foil pouch,
then place the pouch in an approved transport package.
Send the oxygen self-rescuer to the following address in accor-
dance with the transport regulations :
