Adjusting the recording
level
When recording on an MD, you can adjust the
recording level to the desired volume. You can
adjust the recording level not only when making
an analogue recording, but also when making a
digital recording from a CD, etc.

Prepare the desired sound source to
record and start play.

Confirm that the MD deck is in
recording standby.
If not, press z REC.

Press MENU/NO on the remote.
"Setup ?" appears, then press ENTER/YES
on the remote.

Press . or > on the remote
repeatedly until "Level Adjust ?"
appears, then press ENTER/YES.

Press . or > to adjust the
recording level.
The recording level can be adjusted from –12
to +12. While monitoring the sound, adjust
to the optimum level while making sure that
"OVER" does not appear in the display at the
loudest portion. The level meter appears in
the display while adjusting the level. (The
left channel is on the top, and the right
channel is on the bottom.)

Press ENTER/YES.

Press MENU/NO.

When a CD or other sound source is
playing, press x on the system to stop
playback.

Press H on the remote.
Recording starts.
When recording a CD, etc., start playing.
To stop recording
Press MD x.
Tips
• You can also adjust the recording level during
recording. Do steps 3 to 7 during recording.
• Once adjusted, the recording level is maintained
until you adjust it again.
Adjust the level so that
"OVER" does not appear
