Energy Saver Button ( )

If the machine remains idle for a specified length of time, or
machine enters the energy saver mode.
Press
(Energy Saver) to cancel the energy saver mode and resume normal machine
operations.
NOTE
The power consumption at energy saver mode can be set in the Additional Functions menu. (See "Setting the Power
Consumption in Energy Saver Mode," on p. 3-7.)
The length of time taken by the machine to enter the energy saver mode can be set in Additional Functions menu. (See
"Setting the Power Consumption in Energy Saver Mode," on p. 3-7.)
The machine does not enter the sleep mode even if you press
printing, or any original is set in the Feeder. (See "Setting the Energy Saver Mode," on p. 3-18.)
The machine can receive and print documents from a personal computer even when it is in the low energy mode.
Turning Off the Main Power When Optional Hard
Disk is Attached
When the optional Hard Disk is attached, be sure to shut down the Hard Disk before turning off the
main power of the machine. Failure to do so may cause malfunction of the Hard Disk.
NOTE
For details about how to shut down the Hard Disk, see the PS/PCL Printer Guide.
When entering the energy saver mode, you do not need to shut down the Hard Disk.
