When you press buttons : - A the corre-
sponding setting is selected. The DYNAMIC
SELECT switch setting is overwritten.
These settings will also be maintained if you
change with the DYNAMIC SELECT switch in
drive program RACE (S-MODEL), S+, S or C.
If you switch to drive program I, all stored char-
acteristics will be adopted. This is also the case
if you have previously pressed buttons : - A.

Gear lever

Only engage gear when the clutch pedal is
depressed.
!
When shifting between 5th and 6th gear,
you should always push the gear lever all the
way to the right. Otherwise, you could shift
unintentionally into 3rd or 4th gear and dam-
age the transmission.
If you shift down at too high a speed (trans-
mission braking), this can cause the engine to
overrev, leading to engine damage.
Do not use the clutch bite point to keep the
vehicle stationary on uphill gradients. There is
otherwise a risk of damaging the clutch.

On long and steep downhill gradients, espe-
cially if the vehicle is laden or towing a trailer,
you must shift into gear 1, 2 or 3 in good time.
This uses the engine's braking effect. This

prevents the brakes from overheating and
wearing too quickly.

Depress the clutch pedal fully.

Shift the gear lever to position N :.

Engaging reverse gear

Only shift into reverse gear R when the vehi-
cle is stationary. Otherwise, you could dam-
age the transmission.
Move the gear lever firmly to the left, beyond

the point of resistance, then forwards.
The ECO start/stop function is not available
when reverse gear is engaged. Further informa-
