13. DESCALING

Descale the machine when the message "DESCALE" flashes on
the display (B10).
Important!
• Before use, read the instructions and the labelling on the
descaler pack.
• You should use De'Longhi descaler only. Using unsuitable
descaler and/or performing descaling incorrectly may re-
sult in faults not covered by the manufacturer's guarantee.
1. Turn the appliance on and wait until it is ready for use;
2. Press the MENU/ESC button (B12) to access the menu;
3. Press < (B11) or > (B9) (fig. 9) until ""Descaling" is
displayed;
4. Select by pressing the
sage "Descaling Confirm?" is displayed;
5. Press the button again to confirm. "EMPTY DRIP
TRAY" is displayed, alternating with "REMOVE FILTER" (if
the filter is present) and "Add descaler Press OK";
6. Empty the water tank (A18) completely and remove the
water softener filter (C4), if present. Empty the drip tray
(A14 - fig. 26) and grounds container (A12), then put them
back in the appliance;

solution. Extract the water tank, empty, rinse under run-
ning water, fill with fresh water up to the MAX level and
put back in the appliance: "RINSING, Press OK" is displayed;

empty under the cappuccino maker (fig. 37);

fresh water and insert it in the appliance: the display will

under the cappuccino maker (fig. 37);
