Telephone Functions and Features

The MD.2 shares the user telephone line to communicate with caregivers and the IMD Support
Center. It should not interfere in any way with normal user telephone operations. The MD.2 can
only call out and will normally be on the line for less than 1 minute (3 minutes maximum).
Table 12.1 summarizes the calls that can be made to a caregiver. When the MD.2 unit connects
to a caregiver there will be a 6-7 second delay before the MD.2 voices the message. Do not hang
up! Wait for the MD.2 to deliver the message.
