7 MAINTENANCE/SERVICE

The following instructions are provided to assist
the operator in the use of the disc header.
Detailed
maintenance,
information
are
contained
Instruction Manual and Parts Catalogue that are
available from your dealer.
Log
hours
of
"Maintenance Checklist" provided to keep a
record of scheduled maintenance.
Section 7.12, Maintenance Schedule.

7.1 PREPARATION FOR SERVICING

CAUTION
x
To
avoid
personal
servicing
header
covers, perform the following:
o
Fully lower the header. If necessary
to service in the raised position,
always engage header lift cylinder
stops.
o
Stop engine and remove key.
o
Engage park brake.
o
Wait for all moving parts to stop.
7.2 RECOMMENDED SAFETY
PROCEDURES
x
Park on level surface when possible.
Block wheels securely if windrower is
parked
on
recommendations in your Windrower
Operator's Manual.
x
Wear close-fitting clothing and cover
long hair. Never wear dangling items
such as scarves or bracelets.
x
Wear
protective
resistant soles, a hard hat, protective
glasses or goggles and heavy gloves.
x
If more than one person is servicing the
machine at the same time, be aware that
rotating
a
mechanically driven component by hand
(for example, accessing a lube fitting)
will cause drive components in other
areas (belts, pulleys, and disc) to move.
Stay clear of driven components at all
times.
x
Be prepared if an accident should occur.
Know where the first aid kit and fire

electrical outlets and tools are properly
grounded.

Use adequate light for the job at hand.

Keep the machine clean. Never use
gasoline,
