centered in header.
Sickle hold-downs not
adjusted properly.
Sickle sections or guards
are worn or broken.
Header is not level.
Reel fingers not lifting
crop properly ahead of
sickle.
Divider runs down thick
crop at ends, prevent-ing
proper feeding.
Sickle hold-downs not
adjusted properly.
Sickle sections or guards
are worn or broken.
Sickle is not operating at
recommended speed.
Ground speed too fast
for reel speed.
Reel fingers not lifting
crop properly ahead of
sickle.
Cutterbar too high.
Header angle too flat.
Bent sickle, causing
binding of cutting parts.

SOLUTION
Lower reel or adjust
horizontal position.
Adjust hold-downs so sickle
works freely, but still keep
sections from lifting off
guards.
Check and replace all worn
and broken cutting parts.
Level header.
Increase finger pitch
aggressiveness.
Replace 3 or 4 end guards
with stub guards.
Adjust hold-downs so sickle
works freely, but still keep
sections from lifting off
guards.
Check and replace all worn
and broken cutting parts.
Check engine speed of
windrower.
Reduce ground speed or
increase reel speed.
Increase finger pitch
aggressiveness.
Lower cutting height.
Steepen header angle.
Straighten a bent sickle.
