Priority level 2 : Stream priority #2
This priority level can be used as follows:
● first backup level in case RTP stream defined in priority 1 is lost. This backup can be and RTP
stream, or HTTP stream.
● standard priority (typically background music in an hotel). Priority 1 is then reserved to
announcements.
● For decoding a stream selected among several streams received on this priority (kind of IP
audio tuner). The stream to be decoded (more exactly the receiving port) can be selected
through ASCII commands (through TCP or RS232), from the « Live » WEB page by selecting
the receiving port, or from a GPI (see G PIs configuration) .
● Local playlist (stored in folder \bk of the USB storage), which playback is triggered when
priority 1 is lost.
Parameters which differ compared to priority 1 are the following :
- U RL : URL of the RTP stream, HTTP stream, or name of an m3u playlist.
Syntax for a unicast RTP stream : rtp://0.0.0.0:Port (ex : rtp://0.0.0.0 :50040).
Syntax for a multicast RTP stream : rtp://IPaddress :Port (Ex : rtp://224.0.0.100 :50040).
Syntax for an http stream (shoutcast / Icecast): http://servername:Port/Mountpoint (Make sure to
enable the DNS from the Settings page).
- T ime out : This is the time granted to PYKO-out to catch the HTTP stream. If this time is
exceeded, the http stream is considered as absent, and PYKO switches to priority 3 if it is
defined.
- N br streams : defines the number of RTP streams that can be received on priority 2. These
streams must be received on UDP ports which values are incremented by 2 starting from the port
value defined in the URL.
Example:
- URL: rtp://0.0.0.0:5004
- Nbr streams = 4
=> 3 additional RTP streams are sent to this PYKO-out (unicast), on ports 5006, 5008, 5010.
This also works with a multicast IP address, in which case all the streams are sent to this same
multicast address.
