Model 64/64x2 Instruction Manual

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS - KEYBOARD

INTRODUCTION

The Model 64 can be controlled from a keyboard instead of the top panel controls. Keyboard
control can be obtained by interfacing to an optional CRT/Terminal or a Personal Computer (PC)
that is running Cablescan's Terminal Emulation Program (TERM). Refer to the PC Interface
procedure in the Preparation section for setting up a CRT/Terminal or PC. Using the keyboard,
you can execute most functions available through the Top Panel switches.
The CRT/Terminal or PC also allows you to view 24 lines of information on the monitor instead
of just the single line on the Top Panel display.

ENTERING COMMANDS

Commands are entered at the system prompt. To get the prompt, press the ESC key on the
keyboard. All commands are in two letters. They are executed by pressing their two keys,
followed by an ENTER.
There are four categories of commands, as shown below:
• Test - test-related commands used for running a single or continuous test, and self
testing of the tester.
• Build - used in the assembly functions of sequential build, random build, and search.
• Print - used to obtain hardcopies of wire lists, error lists, and user label lists.
• Program - used to learn, load, save, clear, and delete programs in internal memory
and on the external cartridge.
