OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS - CONTROL PANEL

LEARN KNOWN GOOD

Before testing, it is necessary to prepare a program for the harness to be tested, unless a program
already exists.
This is done with the LEARN KNOWN GOOD function, which requires
engagement of the ENABLE plug on the rear panel. A complete programming procedure, using
a known-good harness, is provided below.
1. Engage ENABLE plug on the rear panel.
2. Connect known-good harness through interface wiring to the rear panel test
connector.
3. Press Up or Down arrow to step through the MENU until LEARN KNOWN
GOOD is displayed.
4. Press MENU RUN to initiate LEARN KNOWN GOOD. The Model 64 will
instantly scan the known-good harness and store its configuration (wire list) in
memory. A signature code will be calculated and the display will show:
5. If printer is connected, select and initiate PRINT WIRE LIST. Notice that the
printout also will bear the signature code shown on the display. Refer to the Wire
List Printing procedure. A sample wire list printout is provided in Figure 5.
6. Retain the wire list for future use in identifying the program just created. If no
printout was made, write the displayed signature code on paper for future use.
7. Use the SAVING A PROGRAM procedure to permanently save the wire list
program in memory.
8. Disconnect known-good harness from Model 64.
