Problem
Equipment cycles at stall or
fails to hold pressure at
stall.
Equipment will not cycle, or
cycles once and stops.
Equipment cycles but will
not prime or no flow.
Equipment operates
erratically.
Air bubbles in fluid.
Fluid in exhaust air.
Equipment exhausts
excessive air at stall.

Cause
Worn check valve flappers (116), seats (115)
or gaskets (112, 114).
Air valve is stuck or dirty.
Check valve flapper (116) is stuck.
Check valve flapper (116) is stuck due to
overpressurization.
Dispensing valve clogged.
Excessive suction lift.
Clogged suction line.
Sticky or leaking check valve flapper (116).
Diaphragm ruptured.
Restricted exhaust.
Supply line is loose.
Diaphragm ruptured.
Loose inlet manifold components, damaged
gasket (121) between manifold components,
or damaged check valve gaskets (112, 114).
Loose diaphragm shaft bolt (107).
Damaged o-ring (108).
Diaphragm ruptured.
Loose diaphragm shaft bolt (107).
Damaged o-ring (108).
Worn air valve block (7), o-ring (6), plate (8),
pilot block (18), u-cups (10), or pilot pin o-rings
(17).
Worn shaft seals (402).
1. Follow Pressure Relief Procedure, page 12,
before checking or repairing the equipment.
2. Check all possible problems and causes before
disassembling equipment.
Replace. See page 16.
Disassemble and clean air valve. See
page 21. Use filtered air.
Replace flapper and seat. See
page 16.
Install Pressure Relief Valve. See
page 11.
Relieve pressure and clear valve.
Ensure the suction lift does not exceed
the maximum listed in Technical

priming, fill the chambers with liquid.
