To mount the device on a workbench:
Place the device upside down. Clean the recessed areas in the chassis bottom.

Attach the four rubber feet to the recessed areas in the chassis bottom.

Place the device on the workbench with the upside up.

Grounding the device

WARNING!
• Correctly connecting the grounding cable is crucial to lightning protection and EMI protection.
Before you install and use the device, make sure the device is reliably grounded.
• Connect the grounding cable to the grounding system in the equipment room. Do not connect it
to a fire main or lightning rod.
To ground the device, use a grounding cable to connect the device to a grounding strip.

Attaching the ring terminal to the grounding cable

The device is not provided with a grounding cable but a ring terminal. You need to purchase a
grounding cable yourself as required.
To attach the ring terminal to the grounding cable:
Cut the grounding cable as appropriate for connecting to the grounding strip.

Use a wire stripper to strip 5 mm (0.20 in) of insulation off the end of the grounding cable.

Slide the heat-shrink tubing onto the cable and insert the bare metal part into the end of the ring

Use a crimper to secure the metal part of the cable to the ring terminal.

Slide the heat-shrink tubing down the cable until the tube covers the joint.

Use a heat gun to shrink the tubing around the cable.
