TUBULAR ARMRESTS WITH STEEL SUPPORT
You can swing this type of armrest away on the side and remove it to make transfer easier. With this type of armrests, the wheelchair is provided with side guards.
Always check the armrests are secured when they are in their operating position shown as P (facing forwards and parallel with the sides of the wheelchair).
In all other positions (except when locked in their rear-facing position), they are free to turn and for this reason, you should always ensure that they are correctly positioned before
using the wheelchair.
Failure to follow this instruction may cause the wheelchair or the occupant to overbalance.
(1) (2) To check that the armrest is in the correct operating position, take hold of the armrest with one hand and try to move it left and right. f it is properly secured, the armrest will not turn but will have just a
little play.
(3) (4) To facilitate wheelchair transfers, you can swing by raising it by approximately 1 cm and swinging it away (part A of the support moves away from part B but it will not come off).
(5) (6) If you wish, you can swing the armrest away until it locks in its opposite position (part A locks into part B).
To return the armrest to the operating position, swing it in until it locks (if it was secured in its opposite position, first raise it by approximately 1 cm).
(6) (7) (8) The steel support, made of the parts A and B, prevents the armrest from coming off unintentionally. When you pull the armrest up by approximately 1 cm, it should stop at that point.
In that position, as indicated above, you can swing the armrest away. To remove the armrest, with one finger, move the pin C to align with the hole and then pull the armrest up.
(9) To insert the armrest; insert the part A of the support into the hole of part B and turn the armrest until it locks as described above.
The supports A and B are precisely machined so that inserting and removing the armrest is possible only if the movement is perfectly vertical.
