Upgrading the IF-1129 board in the power-on startup process
1. Remove the IF-1129 board, set the bit 2 (VerUp) of S1 to ON, and then mount the IF-1129 board.
(Refer to Section 2-7-5.)
2. Insert the Memory Stick Duo that contains the program for version upgrade.
3. Turn on the power of the camera.
The access lamp blinks and version upgrade starts.
Upon completion of the version upgrade, the access lamp lights.
4. Remove the IF-1129 board, set the bit 2 (VerUp) of S1 to OFF, and then mount the IF-1129 board.
(Refer to Section 2-7-5.)
5. Check ROM VERSION of the DIAGNOSIS menu to make sure that the IF-1129 board has been
upgraded.

1-10-2. Writing/Rewriting PLD Internal Data

This unit has a programmable logic device (PLD) whose writing/rewriting method conforms to the
e-Production (EPR) system.
When replacing or upgrading the following parts, contact your local Sony Sales Offi ce/Service Center.

The part numbers of the PLDs (or ROMs for PLD) described in "Section 6. Spare Parts" are those of
blank PLDs.
Therefore, when such a PLD need to be replaced, write data to a blank PLD using the following proce-
dure.
When a PLD type whose program runs on an externally connected ROM is faulty, just replace it. Data
writing to this type of PLD is not necessary.
e-Production system
. When writing/rewriting PLD internal data,
1. The standard tool (cable) is available.
2. The standard software (PLD download tool) is available.
. PLD internal data is managed in the Sony database server as Project fi le (E_xxx_xxx_xx_xx).
. A standard connector (EPR connector) for writing PLD internal data is provided on the board with an
indication "EPR" or "EPR2."
