W ork as follow s:
- S et the m oto rc ycle in vertical position and place a vessel under the engine;
- R em ove oil filler cap (1) and drain plugs (2) and (3) unde r the sum p to
drain all the oil;
- F irst rem ove p o ssible particles from the m agnetiz ed care of the rig ht plug,
then set the drain plugs and the g asket in position again (M 14 plug: 24 N m /
2,45 K gm / 18.1 ft-lb; M 22 plug: 60 N m / 6,1 K gm / 4 4 ft-lb).
A dd the req uired am ount of oil through the oil filler (see page A .8 ).
S low ly turn the e ngine for som e m inutes, the turn it off and w ait for som e
m inutes to allow the oil setting inside the sum p. W ith the m otorc ycle set in
vertical position, and looking throu gh w indo w (C ), c heck that the level is
betw een the tw o notches (A ) and (B ) placed at the back of the rear brake
pedal, as show n in figure. T o cha nge the filter cartridge (5), unscre w the tw o
retaining scre w s (6), rem ove the c over (7) and the O ring . R em ove both
spring (8) an d cartridge; replace the O -ring and re verse the opera tions w h en
reassem bling (scre w 6: 9,3 N m / 0,95 K gm / 6.9 ft-lb ).
