R eassem b ly o f cran kcase

P osition the L.H . crankcase on the holding plate (service tool code 8000
90662);
- lubricate w ith engine oil and insert the crankshaft in the L.H . crankcase;
- lubricate w ith engine oil and install the balancing shaft;
- install the gearbox unit and check that the assem bling dim ensions correspond
to those show n at pages H .7 and H .8;
- install the fork guide drum ;
- install the gearbox forks w ith the cylindrical relief inside the relevant seating on
the fork guide drum .
P lace th e fo rk (A ) w ith w id th o f 28 m m (1.1 in .) o n th e p rim ary sh aft
an d th e fo rks (B ) w ith w id th o f 25 m m (0.98 in .) o n th e au xiliary sh aft.

Insert the rack-type control in the fork guide drum , w ith the relevant clips coincident
w ith the respective seatings;
- insert the pins (1) in the forks: m ount the longe r o ne on the tw o forks of the auxil-
iary shaft and the shorter on the m ain shaft.
P lace the centering bushings: fit the sm aller in the front hole;
- w ipe the m ating surface w ith "L O C T IT E 51 0";
- close w ith the R .H . crankcase follow ing the instructions previously given for the
bearings assem bly a nd m etal pa rts in contact, also pa y atte ntion to the edge of th e
gearbo x selector drum ;
- install all the scre w s that fasten the tw o half-cra nkcases
(9,3 N m -0,95 K g m -6.8 ft/lb);
- replace the ho rizontal engine holding plate w ith th e vertical engine holder;
- check that the crankshaft and balancing shaft regu larly run w itho ut roughness.
