1.4 Server Chassis Features

Control Panel

There are four control panels on the front outside edges of the chassis. Each control panel
houses power buttons and status monitoring lights for one node.

Control Panel Features
Description
The main power switch applies or removes primary power from the
power supply to the node but maintains standby power.
Indicates network activity on the LAN when flashing.
Alerts operator to several states, as noted in the table below
The unit identification (UID) button turns on or off the blue light function
of the Information LED and a blue LED on the rear of the chassis.
These are used to locate the server in large racks and server banks.
Information LED
Description
An overheat condition has occurred.
(This may be caused by cable congestion.)
Fan failure, check for an inoperative fan.
Power failure, check for a non-operational power
supply.
UID has been activated locally to locate the
server in a rack environment.
UID has been activated using IPMI to locate the
server in a rack environment.
