4.2 Headers and Connectors

Fan Headers
This motherboard has two fan headers (FAN1/FAN2) for system cooling. These are 4-pin fan
headers, which are backward compatible with traditional 3-pin fans. The onboard fan speed
is controlled by Thermal Management (via Hardware Monitoring) in the IPMI interface. For
best thermal management, use all 4-pin fans.
TPM Header
The JTPM1 header is used to connect a Trusted Platform Module (TPM)/Port 80, a security
device that supports encryption and authentication in storage drives. It allows the motherboard
to deny access if the TPM associated with the storage drive is not installed in the system.
TPM is available from Supermicro.
Intel RAID Key Header
A RAID Key header is located at JRK1 on the motherboard. It supports VMD used in creating
optional advanced NVMe RAID configurations..
