3. Pulled out
Resetting the time and stop seconds: Pull the crown right out: the
seconds hand will now stop. Reset the time by turning the crown in
either direction. When you hear the last pip of the time signal (speaking
clock, radio, TV) push the crown right in.
Push-piece at 4 o'clock
This push-piece can be used to open the case back, thus revealing the
movement under a protective sapphire crystal.
How to use your Lindbergh Hour Angle Watch (see example II)
First synchronize the watch with the time signal. As an example, when
you synchronize it, the watch indicates 4 hours, 37 minutes and 12 sec-
onds. The equation of time, for that day, is less than 4 minutes and 50
seconds.
Now move the guide-mark at «15» on the bezel 4 divisions to the left.
These divisions, which represent the minutes, are engraved on the rim
of the case.
18
Your data is as follows:
Seconds hand (central dial)
Minute hand (bezel)
Hour hand (main dial)
As you have turned the bezel through only 4 minutes
you have to take into account the 50 seconds (the
equation of time for the day being less than 4 minutes
and 50 seconds).
On the central dial, 50 is opposite 12
Greenwich solar time (your longitude)
Important: If your watch stops it should only be repaired by an
approved Longines agent.
Precautions concerning the water-resistant seal
Your Lindbergh Hour Angle Watch is water-resistant but the seal may be
damaged without your realising it if the watch is subjected to a shock.
The water-resistant seal should be checked each time the watch under-
goes its regular service.
