    4. Pre-Operation Procedure Every effort has been made to ensure that new GILES units are in perfect operating condition when received and each one has passed rigorous quality control testing prior to shipment. To ensure that it has been properly installed and will operate as expected when placed into service, we recommend that after installation work is completed, the following steps be performed to check the basic functionality of fryer systems and prepare it for first use.

    Pre-Operation Checkout GBF-50-VH Electric Fryer 4.02 Heat Test This test confirms that Heating Elements are powered and properly energized by the Controller. Heating Elements become extremely hot when energized! Contact can result in severe burn injury. 1. Confirm that HEAT Switch ② is in the [OFF] position and Drain Valve is completely closed.

    GBF-50-VH Electric Fryer Fryer Operation 5.02 Cooking Procedures This section describes procedures for cooking product on a GBF-50-VH Electric Fryer. The following procedures assume you are starting with a clean empty Fryer that has been properly prepared for use. 1. Be sure that all Hood filters are in place and Filter Access Cover is installed and securely fastened. Appliance will NOT power up if Cover is not properly installed and will NOT heat if any filter is missing.

    GBF-50-VH Electric Fryer 6. Cleaning This section explains procedures for cleaning the GBF-50-VH Electric Fryer. As a minimum, Giles recommends that Filter Pan cleaning, as well as general fryer cleaning, be performed daily. Cleaning and maintenance for the Ventless Hood system is covered in Section 7.

  • Page 78 GBF-50-VH Electric Fryer Cleaning 6.02 Boil-Out Procedure - Cleaning the Vat -continued IMPORTANT! During Boil-Out, some solution can enter filter system piping under the vat. After draining and flushing vat, it is important that piping be purged to remove as much boil-out liquid as possible. Failing to do so can lead to oil contamination and problems when oil is heated to cooking temperature.
