5.8 Set substrate conveyor speed
Set the substrate conveyor speed before you start working with the
machine.
Procedure:
1. Check the substrate conveyor speed. Set the speed in this way that trays
are being filled sufficiently before they reach the substrate slide.
2. When the speed needs to be adjusted:
a. Loosen locking bar (A).
b. Turn wheel (B):
i. CCW = substrate conveyor will run slower.
ii. Clockwise = the speed of the conveyor is increased.
c. Tighten locking bar (A).
5.9 Set substrate slide
Set the substrate slide height before you start working with the
machine.
The substrate slide (A) in the substrate bin can be adjusted in height, in
order to determine the quantity of potting substrate which arrives at the
elevator.
The slide is fastened with two wing nuts (B). By loosening these two wing
nuts, it is possible to position the slide up or down.
5.10 Set spreading pilots
Substrate that is spreaded can be controlled by two control pilots.
For narrow trays the pilots ensure that excess substrate is returned
to the substrate bin.
Set the substrate pilots before you start working with the
machine.
procedure:
1. Check the distribution of substrate in the tray.
2. If the spreading is incorrect:
a. Adjust the pilots (A) through loosening clamp (B) focus pilots.
5.11 Set spreading quantity
Set the desired amount of material in Spreading area by adjustment of the dozer blade of the spreading belt and
adjustment of the speed of the spreading belt.
Set before the first adjustment the speed of the tray conveyor.
Set the substrate slide in a way that there is a constant stream of substrate.
When stones are spreaded, this could damage the tread due to a too low setting. Keep this level as low as
possible, and control with the speed of the spreading conveyor to control the amount to be spreaded.
