Install the anode assembly and washer into the aftercooler end cover. Tighten securely.
3.
Unplug and connect the seawater inlet hose, or open the seacock if equipped.
Without sufficient cooling water, the engine, the water pump, and other components will overheat and suffer damage. Provide
a sufficient supply of water to the water inlets during operation.
4.
Ensure that both the sterndrive and engine seawater pickup pumps are supplied cooling water.
5.
Start the engine and check for leaks

Antifouling Paint

IMPORTANT: Corrosion damage that results from the improper application of anti‑fouling paint is not covered by the limited
warranty.
In some areas it may be advisable to paint the bottom of the boat to help prevent marine growth. Contact a Mercury Diesel
authorized repair facility for recommendations for your boat.
