CHAPTER 6 | Navigating the Web-based Administration

The EZ Connect ™ Wireless Cable Modem Gat eway' s management int erf ace allows you t o
conf igure bot h basic and advanced f eat ures and opt ions. Some of t hese advanced f unct ions
include: hacker at t ack det ect ion, IP and MAC address f ilt ering, int rusion det ect ion, virt ual
server set up, virt ual DMZ host s, as well as ot her advanced f unct ions.

6. 1 | Making Configuration Changes

Once a conf igurat ion change has been made on a page, be sure t o click t he [ Apply] or [ Next ]
but t on at t he bot t om of t he page t o enable t he new set t ing.

6. 2 | System

This sect ion is used t o conf igure t he device mode and administ rat ion opt ions.
On t he screen shown below, you can conf igure t he Rout er Name.
6. 2. 1 | Password Settings
From t his sect ion you can conf igure a new administ rat ion password t hat is used t o access t he
web management f rom your local LAN or by remot e management f rom t he WAN (int ernet ).
To access t he Remot e Management conf igurat ion page, on t he Side Navigat ion bar, click on
[ Syst em] link and t hen click on t he [ Password Set t ings] link.
If your password is lost , or you cannot gain access t o t he user int erf ace, press t he Reset but t on
on t he rear panel (holding it down f or at least f ive seconds) t o rest ore t he f act ory def ault s.
