ADJUSTING THE CLUTCH CABLE FREE
PLAY
1. Check:
• clutch cable free play 3
Out of specification
Clutch cable free play
(at the end of the clutch lever)
10 ~ 15 mm (0.4 ~ 0.6 in)
2. Adjust:
• clutch cable free play
Handlebar side
a. Remove the rubber cap.
b. Loosen the locknut 1.
c. Turn the adjusting bolt 2 in direction a or b
until the specified clutch cable free play is
obtained.

d. Tighten the locknut
e. Fit the rubber cap back to its position.
NOTE:
If the specified clutch cable free play cannot be
obtained on the handlebar side of the cable, use the
adjusting nut on the engine side.
Engine side
a. Remove the protection caps.
b. Loosen the locknut 1.
c. Turn the adjusting bolt 2 in one of the following
directions until the specified clutch cable free play
is obtained.
Clockwise
Counterclockwise The free play is decreased
d. Tighten the locknut.
e. Cover nuts with the protection caps.
