Coaxial overlap check

Using the test tool (coalignment tool), check whether the center of the
fundus image coincides with the center of the OCT scan image within given
tolerances. In practical terms this means checking that the scan, based on
the fundus image, is actually positioned where it should be. Repeat the test
if the system does not pass it. If a test has been failed, the data recorded
since the last successful test may be unreliable.
CAUTION - RISK OF FALSE DIAGNOSIS
The test must be carried out at the start of the week in which new scans
are to be obtained. It takes approximately 2 minutes to complete the test.

Test tool

The tool is included in the scope of delivery of the instrument. It contains
sensitive parts which must remain in their original position in order to ensure
precise measurements. The tool should be handled carefully and should not
be dropped. A damaged test tool can impair the test results. If the tool is
dropped, it should no longer be used for the coalignment test. In this case
contact ZEISS Service.

Installation of the test tool

The test tool (5, Fig. 11) has two adjusting pins (3, Fig. 11), one in the upper
right corner and one bottom left. There are knurled screws in the upper left
and lower right corners (2, Fig. 11). The corresponding holes are in the
protective funnel (4, Fig. 11) which is fixed to the mount of the front lens of
the instrument.
Apply the test tool to the protective funnel. Rough orientation is provided by
the four plastic pins (1, Fig. 11) around the perimeter of the test tool. The
part of the test tool labeled "Top" should face upwards. Tighten the knurled
screws on the upper and lower side by hand.
