    The SingleLine SCOUT (see Figure 1 ) is connected at the end of the SingleLine of an applicable MSA SCBA. It consists of the pressure gauge (2), the coupling for the lung governed demand valve (8) as well as an acoustic warning device (7) (signal whistle). It triggers a continuous warning signal when the cylinder pressure drops below 55 ± 5 bar.
  • Page 6 2 Description The device monitors the proper functioning of the respiratory protective device. It displays the current operating data of the respiratory protective device and signals the danger conditions (visually and acoustically). In addition, the device automatically triggers an alarm if the apparatus user is not moving and provides the opportunity for manual alarm triggering.

    3 Installation Installation Disassembling SingleLine Gauge For disassembling the SingleLine gauge, a Torx spanner and a small screw driver are required. Unscrew the back cover of the SingleLine gauge with a Torx T10 spanner. Lift the back cover. Remove the U-clip with a small screw driver. Pull the SingleLine manifold out.
  • Page 8 The screws are not reusable and MUST be replaced with new ones after each disassembly. Failure to follow this caution can result in minor or moderate injury. Assembling SingleLine SCOUT For assembling the device, a Torx spanner and a small screw driver are required.

    4 Use Switching on Open compressed air cylinder. If pressure > 15 bar, SingleLine SCOUT starts up. a) Electronic component check: All LEDs are flashing once, an acoustic signal sounds and the gauge LEDs light up green. The device is ready for use. If only red LEDs light up and no acoustic signal sounds, do not use the device. There is an electronical damage.

    • 60 bar – Signal whistle – double beep repeated until confirmed with double press below 15 bar These thresholds can be changed using the MSA A2 Software in combination with 10181672 as PC interface. See MSA A2 Software for more details.
  • Page 11 3 LEDs on each side of the gauge when the device is lifted from the user’s chest. Following thresholds represent the standard setting and can be changed using MSA A2 Software in combination with 10181672 as PC interface.
  • Page 12 It is possible to read out the data from the SingleLine SCOUT. Settings can be changed to a certain extent and reloaded back to the device. This is done by loading the MSA A2 Software on the PC. See connected software manual in application software “SingleLine SCOUT”.
  • Page 13: Cleaning And Maintenance

    Update date and time settings after battery exchange using MSA A2 Software. It is recommended that the batteries be changed at least once a year or if indicated to do so by the LED or on the display.
  • Page 14 Service mode Pressing manual alarm button for more then 10 seconds in standby activates the service mode. Service mode can be used in combination with MSA A2 Software to change device settings and read out log memory. For more information, see MSA A2 Software.
