MSA Suretyman
National standards and state, provincial and federal laws require the user to be trained before using this product. Use this manual as part
of a user safety training program that is appropriate for the user's occupation. These instructions must be provided to users before use
of the product and retained for ready reference by the user. The user must read, understand (or have explained), and heed all instructions,
labels, markings and warnings supplied with this product and with those products intended for use in association with it. FAILURE TO DO
SO MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

- Page 2 FONCTIONS Deux types de corde sont proposés avec le système de travail et de sauvetage Suretyman de MSA : une corde de 11 mm (7/16 po) en série, et une corde spéciale de 12 mm (1/2 po) livrée sur demande. Le système Suretyman de MSA, monté en usine, est prêt à l’emploi dès sa sortie de son emballage. Sa configuration procure un avantage mécanique de 4:1 pour le levage.

The user is responsible for selecting an appropriate anchor point. The anchor shall be unquestionably strong and shall be able to support a minimum of 5000 lbf (22 kN). The anchor should be chosen so that when the MSA Suretyman Rescue Utility System is mounted, the rope is allowed to travel and be handled without obstruction. - Page 8 RAISING (LIFTING) THE LOAD To raise the load, grip the MSA Suretyman Ascender with both hands and pull down (note: to avoid fatigue, use body weight, don’t just rely on upper body strength to pull the rope). Grasp the rope below the ascender and hold the rope. Slide the ascender further up the rope to reset for the next pull. Repeat the process until the load has been raised to the desired height.

- Page 10 4. The system should be used as supplied by the manufacturer. Only qualified individuals are to re-rig or re-rope the MSA Suretyman Rescue Utility System. 5. A small force of approximately 7% is all that is required to hold or lower a load using the MSA Suretyman Rescue Utility System. Should the rope become heavily soiled this friction could increase.
