Table 2-9 (Sheet 2 of 3)
Sets the duration of the reset or return to "Ready" phase, starting when
the breaker has closed (52b removed). If during this time the 52b and/or
3RI, dependent on the "Recl n" setting, the recloser bypasses the remain-
ing "Reset Time" and begins the next reclosure. If the reset phase is in-
terrupted on the last reclose event of a sequence, the recloser bypasses
the remaining "Reset Time" and goes to LOCKOUT mode. Otherwise, at
the end of reset time, the system returns to READY mode.
When set to "Yes", reclose and/or reset operations are "frozen" as long as
the HOLD input is energized. The reclose sequence continues from the
point where the HOLD input was asserted as soon as HOLD input is re-
moved.
When "MaxCycle ?" is set to yes, the "Max Time" (maximum, total cycle
time). The cycle is the interval which begins when the first reclose initiate
signal is recognized and ends with the relay in the "READY" mode. The
cycle time ("Max Time") is the time allowed by the recloser to complete
the cycle. If the cycle is not completed by the end of the cycle time, the
recloser will proceed to "LOCKOUT"
Caution must be exercised when using "Max Cycle". If voltage checking
or synchronism checking functions are in use and any "Wait Time" is set
to "Infinite Time", it is possible for the "Max Time" to expired and cause an
undesired LOCKOUT.
This function is to prevent sustained pumping action of a circuit breaker
as a result of a permanent fault, or any mechanical malfunction which
causes the breaker to be closed by some means other than the designed
reclosing relay action.
This function allows the relay to follow the 52b contact action. While the
recloser is timing a reclosure, it checks the 52b contact for openings. If the
52b contact opens, within a reclosure, the relay starts the "reset" se-
quence.
If the 52b contact closes, within the "reset" sequence, the relay goes to
the next reclosure (if more reclosures remain), or to LOCKOUT mode.
This setting selects the logic use of the 52a input. When "52a, Yes" is se-
lected, the recloser logic provides a security relative to breaker position. If
both contacts are open or closed for a time greater than approximately 0.1
second, the recloser will go to LOCKOUT mode.
When "Manual Close" is selected the 52a input is used for initiation of a
manual close sequence. (See below for "Manual Close" sequence details.
When "Cum. Recl?" is set to "Yes", this function allows the recloser to
capture the number of reclosing events from count reset to the maximum
allowable number of reclosures, "Cum. Recl", at which time the recloser
causes an alarm output (Alarm 1). The function is reset (Alarm 1 turned
off) only when a new value for Cum Recl has been entered in the setting
mode or "Cum. Recl?" is set to "No".
