Darning
Fabric that has been torn can be darned.
Darning is sewn as shown below.
a Reinforcement stitching
Determine the desired length of the darning.

Set the button guide plate on buttonhole foot
"A" to the desired length. (The distance between
the markings on the presser foot scale is 5 mm
(3/16 inch).)

• A bar tack with a maximum length of about
28 mm (1-1/8 inch) can be sewn.
Attach buttonhole foot "A".

Position the fabric so that the needle is 2 mm
(1/16 inch) in front of the area to be darned,
and then lower the presser foot lever.

Pass the upper thread down through the hole in
the presser foot.
• When lowering the presser foot, do not push
in the front of the presser foot, otherwise the
darning will not be sewn with the correct
size.
