Connections for signal in- and output are double isolated from circuits that can be under dangerous voltage. 2. Usage as per specification • The actuator PSF-M-EX is a stationary installed device for use in Ex zone 1, 2, 21 or 22. The actuator PSF-M-EX is not suitable for use in zone 0 and zone 20. -

• Protect the actuators against mechanical damage. 4. Betriebsbedingungen und Einbaulage • PSF-M-EX actuators may be operated at ambient temperatures according to the technical data sheet. • Operating modes correspond to IEC 60034-1, 8: S2 for short cycle and S4 for modulating operation (actuator- specific values see actuator-specific data sheets). -

Figure 2: Installation positions 5. Function The actuator PSF-M-EX is designed for use as an electric valve actuator with emergency handwheel. The actuator columns are used for mounting on the valve. Depending on the valve design, a rod lantern or a special valve mounting plate is required. -

PSF-M-EX electric actuators do not have an internal electrical power switch. A switch or power mains switch must be provided in the building installation. It should be positioned closely to the device and be easily accessible for the user and shall be labelled as the mains isolator switch for the actuator. -

13. Maintenance and Servicing The actuators are maintenance-free if used under the operating conditions as designated in the data sheet. The gearboxes are lubricated for life and do not require further lubrication. Attention ! During maintenance and repair the actuator must not be operated electrically. 13.1 Cleaning The actuators should be cleaned dryly. -
