3.
Tighten the edge guide locking screw.
4.
Ensure that the entire length of the edge guide rests against the wood to ensure even
parallel cuts.
WARNING! Cutting with the edge guide locking screw loose may cause serious injury.
POCKET CUT
WARNING! Ensure that the tool is switched off and is unplugged from the power supply before
making any adjustments.
1.
Set the cutting depth adjustment based on the thickness of the material being cut.
2.
Raise the lower guard using the lower guide lever. Using the front end of the base plate as a
pivot point, position the saw blade approximately 1/4 in. (.5 cm) above the material to be cut.
Start the saw and allow the blade to reach its full speed before beginning the cut. Gradually
lower the blade onto the material being cut, and release the lower guard when the blade
starts cutting.
3.
When the base plate is resting flat on the surface being cut, proceed with cutting in a forward
direction until the end of the cut is reached. Allow the blade to come to a full stop before
removing it from the cut.
CAUTION: Never pull the saw backwards in a cut. The blade could climb out of the cut and kickback
may occur.

CUTTING LARGE SHEETS

1.
Support large panels to minimize the risk of blade pinching and kickback. Large panels tend
to sag under their own weight. Supports must be placed under both sides of the panel near
the cut line, and near the edge of the panel.
2.
If the cutting operation requires you to rest the saw on the workpiece, rest the saw on the
largest portion of the material and allow the smaller piece to drop-off – this will help to
reduce the risk of blade pinching and kickback.

MAINTENANCE

Before making any adjustments or changing any accessories, turn off the tool and unplug it from its
power source.
1.
Check for damaged parts before using any tool. If any parts appear to be damaged, carefully
inspect them to ensure that they will not impede the tool's ability to properly perform
its intended function. Check for misaligned or binding moving parts, for broken parts or
mounting fixtures, or for any other conditions that may affect proper operation. Any damaged
parts should be immediately repaired or replaced by a qualified technician.
2.
Use only identical replacement parts when servicing. Only use accessories that are intended
for use with this tool.
3.
Clean the tool after each use. Keep the tool clean by wiping it with a clean cloth and by
periodically blowing out all areas with compressed air. If compressed air is not available, use
a brush to remove dust and debris from all areas. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents to
clean the tool – chemicals and solvents could cause serious damage to the tool.
4.
Regularly inspect all mountings and screws to ensure that they are tight. If any mountings or
screws are loose, tighten them immediately.
