D. Main jet adjustment
The main jet controls the air-fuel mixture at
engine rpm's above 1/4 throttle. On this
snowmobile, the standard size main jet is used
(as specified in the table). If it has to be
changed because of altitudes or weather
conditions, consult a Yamaha dealer.
The smaller the main jet size, the leaner the
mixture. During warm weather or at high al-
titudes, a smaller main jet should be used.
During periods of excessively cold weather,
a larger one should be used. Too lean a
mixture can cause overheating and possible
engine failure. Too rich a mixture can cause
poor performance and excessive carbon for-
mation with accompanying shorter spark
plug life.

Le gicleur principal contr61e le m61ange

1/4. Sur ce motoneige, le gicleur principal
d'origine sp~cifi~ darts le tableau est utilis~.
Si on d6sire modifier son calibre en raison
d'un changement d'altitude ou des conditions
m6t6orologiques, consulter un concession-
naire Yamaha. Plus le calibre du gicleur
principal est petit, moins fiche est le m~lange.
Par temps chaud ou ~ haute altitude, un gi-
cleur principal plus petit dolt ~tre utilis~.
Un m61ange trop pauvre est la cause d'une
surchauffe pouvant conduire ~ de s~rieux
d6g~ts au moteur. Un m61ange trop fiche
provoque une baisse de performances et la
formation rapide de d~p6ts de carbone, ainsi
qu'une r6duction de la dur6e des bougies.
