Checking the ignition system
A faulty ignition system or too rich a mixture
can cause spark plug misfiring. A damaged
spark plug misfiring. A damaged spark plug
should be replaced to prevent engine trouble.
If the ignition system is suspect attach the
high tension wire to the plug and ground the
plug base to the cylinder head. Crank the
engine with the ignition key in the ON posi-
tion and check the condition of the spark.
It should be strong enough to jump acrolss
the specified gap and blue-white in color. If
the fuel system is suspect after checking the
spark plug. consult a Yamaha dealer.

Les rat~s d'allurnage provinnent, soit d'un
avarie au systdrne d'allumage lui-m~me, soit
d'un m~lange carbur~ trop fiche. Si la bougie
est endomrnag~e, il faut la remplacer sans
d~lai, pour pr~venir les ennuis de moteur.
Si

systdme
d'allumage
est
suspect,
connectez le fil de bougie ~ la bougie d~-
mont~e, et approchez la base de la bougie
de la culasse. Tirez la lanceur aprds avoir
mis le contact, et observez les &incelles. On
dolt obtenir des &incelles blanc-bleu~.tre,
assez fortes pour ~clater darts l'intervalle
sp~'ifi~ Si l'allumage ne parait pas &re en
cause, demandez ~ votre cocessionnaire de
v~rifier le syst~me d'alimentation.
B a t t e r y
Remove battery and charge it. Store in a dry
place and recharge once a month. Do not
store battery in an excessively warm or cold
place (less than O°C (32°F) of more than 30=C
(90°F)).
Batterie
Enlever la batterie et la charger. La conserver
darts un endroit sec, et la recharger uric fois
par mois. Ne pas laisser la batterie dans un
lieu trop froid ou trop chaud (moins de 0°C
ou plus de 30°C).
