2.4 Adjusting the Blade Length
Be sure to correctly adjust the blade length. If the blade length is too long for the thickness of the medium being used,
you may damage the writing panel and/or the cutter blade.
Adjusting the Blade Length
(1) The blade length s adjusted by turnng the blade-length adjustment knob.
To extend the cutter blade, turn the knob n the A drecton.
To retract the cutter blade, turn the knob n the B drecton.
Use the scale on the plunger cap to determne how far to move the cutter blade.
When the knob s turned the dstance of one scale unt, the cutter blade moves 0.1 mm.
When t s gven one full turn, the cutter blade moves 0.5 mm.
(2) Algn the cutter blade tp wth the tp of the cutter pen, and then extend the cutter blade tp to sut the thckness of the
medum beng used.
Obtaining the Correct Blade Length
(1) Gradually ncrease the blade length to sut the thckness of the medum beng used. The deal blade length s
a length that s slghtly less than the combned thckness of the flm and ts backng sheet, but greater than the
thckness of the flm tself. Adjust the blade length so that only traces of the blade appear on the backng sheet when
a cuttng test s performed. If the blade cuts rght through the backng sheet, decrease the blade length. If the blade
does not cut the flm cleanly, ncrease the blade length.
