3 Exchanging the spare turbine
Insert the spring washers
CAUTION
It is essential that you observe the installation position of the spring washers.
Improper installation of the spring washers will lead to malfunction or damage to
the rotors of the turbine.
▶ Insert the washer Mat. no. 1.003.5900 (larger outer diameter, blank) into the
back cap.
▶ Insert the washer Mat. no. 1.003.7576 (smaller outer diameter, coloured
brown) into the head casing. Verify the tight fit of the spring washer in the
base of the head casing.
▶ Insert the enclosed spring washers into the lid and head housing.
Insert the O-rings
CAUTION
Incorrect position of the O-rings.
Functional problem.
▶ Make sure that the O-rings are positioned correctly in the recesses.
▶ Replace both O-rings.
▶ Spray O-rings with KaVo Spray and insert them in the head housing and cov‐
er.
Insert the replacement turbine
DANGER
Not maintaining a torque of 100 Ncm when tightening the cover.
Danger of injury; the cover can release and fall into the patient's mouth with the
replacement turbine.
▶ Use a torque wrench (such as a 1/4" KaVo torque wrench 100 Ncm
Mat. no. 1.002.4578) .
▶ Insert the replacement turbine into the cover and completely screw it into the
head housing.
▶ Tighten the cover clockwise with the wrench at a torque of 100 Ncm ± 6 Ncm.
