8. TROUBLESHOOTING

SYMPTOM
1. Aerator does not start
2. The overload breaker or
the
thermal
amperometer
protection
triggers
during
operation.
3. The aerator does not stop
automatically.
4. Air flow is weak.
5. The aerator is noisy and
vibrates.
PROBABLE CAUSE
1.1 The selection switch is positioned on
"Off".
1.2 There is no power supply.
1.3 The automatic control mechanisms
(level regulator, thermal amperometer,
etc.) refuse consent.
2.1 Full voltage is not reaching all
phases of the motor.
2.2 Absorption is unbalanced over the
phases.
2.3 The motor is running inverted.
2.4 the overload circuit breaker has a
too low setting.
2.5 the power supply voltage does not
correspond to the aerator's voltage.
2.6 The rotor is not rotating freely
because of attrition.
2.7 The liquid being aerated/mixed is
excessively dense or viscous.
2.8 The electrical control panel has
overheated.
2.9 The electrical motor has overheated.
2.10 The motor winding mechanism has
been damaged by the presence of
liquids.
3.1 The automatic control mechanisms
(level regulator, thermal amperometer,
etc.) refuse consent.
4.1 Rotation direction is inverted.
4.2 Aerator is worn out.
4.3 Aerator is partially obstructed.
5.1 The unit has been installed wrong.
5.2 Worn hydraulics.
5.3 Treated liquid contains an excessive
percentage of solids.

RECOMMENDED ACTION
1.1 Switch to "on".
1.2 Check that the electrical equipment is
undamaged and that the power supply is on.
1.3 Wait for consent and check the efficiency of the
control mechanisms.
2.1 Check that the electrical equipment is
undamaged and the power supply voltage.
2.2 Check the phase balance as detailed in the wiring
and grounding section. If necessary send the aerator
to an authorized repair shop.
2.3 Invert two of the three phases.
2.4 Check the ampere calibration corresponds to the
specification on the aerator nameplate.
2.5 Substitute the aerator or the change the power
supply.
2.6 Check the hydraulics as detailed in the
"maintenance" section. If necessary send the aerator
to an authorized repair shop.
2.7 Revise the aerator selection.
2.8 Check that the circuit breakers are at
compensated ambient temperature. Protect the
electrical control panel from direct sunlight and heat
sources.
2.9 Remove scaling from the motor cooling surfaces.
Reconsider the aerator model choice on the basis of:
- the temperature of the treated liquid;
- the shallow level of the liquid does not cover the
motor.
2.10 Check as instructed in the maintenance section.
If necessary send the aerator to an authorized repair
shop.
3.1 See 1.3.
4.1 Invert two of the three phases.
4.2 Check the hydraulics as detailed in the
"maintenance" section.
4.3 Eliminate detritus.
5.1 See 4.1.
5.2 See 4.2.
5.3 Reconsider the aerator model choice.
