Care and maintenance
WARNING!
Risk of electric shock!
Touching live parts may result in severe
injury or death.
Before cleaning and maintenance of
the appliance, unplug the mains plug
from the socket or isolate/unscrew
the fuse.
Always touch the mains plug, never
the mains cord.
Never spray the device with a water
jet or a high-pressure cleaner. Water
could reach live components through
cracks.
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
Improper cleaning and maintenance of
the appliance can lead to damage.
The surface of the appliance can
scratch and the rubber sleeve can be-
come brittle, fragile and leaky.
Never use harsh, granular, soda, acid,
solvent-based or abrasive cleaners.
They can damage the surfaces or
make the rubber sleeve brittle and
fragile. All-purpose cleaners with a
neutral pH are recommended.
Do not use pointed, sharp or angular
objects for cleaning the rubber sleeve.
They can make the rubber sleeve
leaky.

Regular checks

Check regularly whether
– the fittings of the water inlet hose (b) are
sitting securely and are not leaking when
the tap is open.
– the water drain hose (14) is attached se-
curely to the edge of the bath or the siphon.
– the water drain hose is clamped tightly
in the retaining clip at the point where it
comes out of the housing.
– the hoses are in good condition (not brittle,
cracked or kinked).
– the lint trap (17) is closed tightly.
– the rubber sleeve of the appliance
door (19) is free of foreign objects such as
buttons, paper clips, etc.
– the drum is free of foreign objects.
– the drum is free of traces of rust.

Regular cleaning

Washing machine cleaning agents for main-
taining your washing machine can be found
in well-stocked supermarkets and drugstores.
Cleaning the appliance using these products
takes place when the washing machine is
empty and is very intensive.
You should clean the appliance in this way
every 30 wash cycles to prevent limescale
deposits and to maintain your appliance.
When doing so, please note the manufactur-
er instructions on the packaging.
Limescale deposits can be avoided
using the right detergent dosage (see
'The right dosage' on page EN-23).

Cleaning the appliance door

1. Pull back the folds of the rubber sleeve
carefully and remove all objects from be-
hind it.
