Start in Gear Protection

Starting the engine with the drive in gear can cause serious injury or death. Never operate a boat that does not have a
neutral‑safety‑protection device.
The remote control connected to the outboard must be equipped with a start in neutral only protection device. This prevents the
engine from starting in gear.

Lifting the Outboard

Use the lifting eye on the engine.

Boat Transom Height Requirement

antiventilation plate of the outboard.

Installing Outboard on Transom

Failure to correctly fasten the outboard could result in the outboard propelling off the boat transom resulting in property
damage, serious injury, or death. Before operation, the outboard must be correctly installed with the required mounting
hardware.
