DIFFERENTIAL FEED: STRETCHY FABRICS

Using the balanced 4-thread overlock stitch from the
previous exercise, follow the instructions below to adjust
the differential feed.
1.
With the Differential Feed setting at 1 (normal preset),
fold the fabric in half (5" x 10") and sew along the
folded edge with the 4-thread overlock stitch.
2.
Change the Differential Feed setting to 1.5, sew along
the folded edge of the second fabric halfway to the
end.
3.
Adjust the differential feed setting to 2 and complete
sewing the remainder of the fabric to the end.
4.
Label the fabric samples with the differential feed
settings and compare to find the ideal setting for the
knit fabric you have.
5.
Save the settings adjustments in Personal Memory
using instructions on following page.
