Cooling Fans

The JSA7500 has eight cooling fans. The fans are hot-swappable.
NOTE: JSA7500 has internal hot-swappable cooling fans.
Fans work in unison to cool the JSA components. A red alarm is triggered when a fan fails.
To monitor the fan:
• For JSA7500, use the following commands:
• To enable IPMI and boot, use # chkconfig ipmi on
• To start IPMI service, use service ipmi start
• For fan status, use # ipmitool sdr

Maintaining the JSA7500 Air Filter

The JSA7500 ships with a front bezel with air filter to provide optimum cooling to the appliance.
For optimum cooling, maintain the air filter, as follows:
• Regularly inspect the air filter.
• A dirty air filter restricts airflow in the appliance, producing a negative effect on the ventilation of the
chassis. The filter degrades over time. You must replace the filter every six months.
CAUTION: Always keep the air filter in place while the JSA7500 appliance is operating.
Running the appliance without the air filter in place could cause of small bits of dirt or
other materials could be blown into the appliance. This could damage the appliance
components.
