4.2 Setting up the COM port
For the OtoRead
device to work with the software, the COM port settings should match those below.
TM
1.
Click on the Windows
2. Go to Ports (COM & LPT) and find the Communication Port or Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port.
3. Right click on the Communication Port or Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port and select
Properties.
4. Go to the Port Settings tab and set that Bits per second (baud rate) to 9600.
5. Click on the Advanced... button.
6. Change the COM Port Number if needed (e.g., if using OtoAccess® 2.x, the COM port must be set
to COM1).
7. Set the Driver Buffer Size (or Received and Transmit) to 4096.
8. Click OK and exit. The Port settings are now set.
