2.6 Connecting OtoRead
The OtoRead™ can be connected to the PC using an RS232 serial cable or using a USB-to-serial
converter cable.
OtoRead™ with RS232 serial cable
Important: Install the USB-to-serial driver before connecting the USB-to-serial cable to the PC.
To configure the OtoRead
the PC. The COM port settings should also be checked to ensure they meet the requirements for
connecting to this device. Follow the instructions in section 4 (Troubleshooting & FAQ) to obtain the COM
port information and change settings through the Device Manager on your PC.
2.7 Configuring OtoRead™ Module to work with OtoAccess
and click on File - Setup.
1. Start OtoAccess
®
2. In the Setup window, click on the Instruments tab.
3. Type in the desired name under New Instrument name (e.g., OtoRead Module).
4. Select OTOREAD under Software modules.
5. Select OTOREAD under Hardware.
6. If using an RS232 serial cable:
a) Select Serial Communication.
b) Select the Com Port. Ensure that the COM port selected in OtoAccess
used by the device. (Go to the Device Manager on your PC to check which COM port is used).
c) Set the Baud Rate to 9600.
7. If using a USB-to-serial converter cable, select USB communication.
