Slide Valve Command Shaft Assembly
Replacement

Removal

The following steps can be used to remove or install
either the capacity or volume command shaft
assemblies.
1.
Shut down and isolate compressor unit, see
Compressor
Unit
procedure.
2.
Remove
actuator,
Replacement procedure.
3.
Remove four socket head cap screws (457) and
Nord-Lock washers (477) securing the command
shaft assembly to the discharge manifold.
4.
The command shaft and mounting plate may now
be removed from the compressor.

Installation

5.
Install a new o-ring (446) into the groove on the
compressor discharge manifold. You may use clean
compressor lubricating oil on the o-ring.
6.
Install the command shaft onto the compressor
discharge manifold. Ensure that the command
shaft tongue is engaged in the cross-shaft slot in-
side the compressor discharge manifold. Rotate
the command shaft assembly so that the vent holes
point downward. This will prevent water and dust
from entering the vent.
7.
Secure the command shaft assembly to the dis-
charge manifold using the four socket head cap
screws and Nord-Lock washers and apply the prop-
er torque.
8.
Perform leak check, see Compressor Unit Leak
