Commissioning
Switch
The device is switched on or off by the toggle switch located near the handle. Position on "I" means
that the device is switched on; position on "O" means that the tool is switched off.
Warning:
Hold the tool with both hands, as the torque of the motor can cause the tool to suddenly
move. Before starting work, turn on the device and wait for it to reach its maximum speed; only then
bring the device to the workpiece. Always remove the device from the workpiece before reducing the
speed or switching off the device. Do not switch the device on and off when it is in contact with a work-
piece, as this can impair the usability of both the switch in particular and the whole device.
Grinding
Select a grinding wheel.
Warning!
In any case, make sure that the maximum operating speed is at least equal to the operating
speed indicated on the nameplate of the device; this will prevent accidents. The recommended grind -
ing wheel diameter must not be exceeded.
Grinding wheels
Grinding wheels differ in a variety of specifications, such as grit type, grit size, wheel hardness, struc-
ture and bond. They can for example be used to work on mild steel, weld joints, stainless steel or other
ferrous metals. In order for this device to function in the most efficient manner, grinding wheels should
always be selected carefully and according to the task at hand.
Grinding angles
The most effective grinding angle lies between 15° and 30°. While an angle smaller than 15° will lead
to an increased bearing surface and thereby decrease the handling of the device as it becomes more
difficult to control, an angle greater than 30° will lead to a reduced bearing surface and might create
notches due to attrition.
