Workstation Setup – Pro Tools
Go to Setup / Peripherals / MIDI Controllers. Add up to four HUI peripherals (depending on how many DAW channels
you want to control). See the previous table for ipMIDI assignments:
If you have automation, set the MTC Generator Port in the Synchronization tab to ipMIDI port 14 (or physical MIDI port
8 if you are using the console MIDI ports):
Also, set the MMC midi port in the Machine Control tab to ipMIDI port 14 (or physical MIDI port 8 if you are using the
console MIDI ports):
Before mixing, the following options should be enabled in the Pro Tools Setup / Preferences / Mixing menu :
1. Plug-in Controls Default to Auto-Enabled
2. Latching Behaviour for Switch Controls in "Touch"
3. Set the SSL δ-Control Plug-in as a 'Favourite' by Command-click (Mac) or Control-click (PC) the Insert Selector and
then selecting the SSL plug-in from the Other category. It will then appear at the top of the Insert Selector pop-up
menu for fast access.
For the MMC Locate message to update the desk timecode readout the following options should be enabled in the Pro
Tools Setup / Preferences / Synchronization menu:
1. Machine Chases Memory Location.
To make Pro Tools behave like a tape machine for SSL Legacy Automation enable the following in the Pro Tools Setup /
