Faulty pressure switch
Leak in control line
Pilot valve out of adjustment or
malfunctioning
Faulty pressure switch
Throttle solenoid stuck
Governor stuck
Located too close to obstruction.
Low oil level
Restricted cooling air in or out
RPMs too fast
Low oil level
Low fuel
Engine overloaded
Engine idle set too low
Fouled spark plug
Faulty throttle solenoid
Blown system fuse
Faulty pilot valve
Faulty pressure switch
Contaminated fuel
Wrong fuel type fill

SECTION 6: TROUBLESHOOTING
Corrective Action
Replace fuel filter. Refer to the Engine
Owner's Manual.
Readjust or replace pilot valve.
Replace pressure switch.
Check for leaks; replace line if necessary.
Pressure settings may need to be reset.
Replace pressure switch.
Check throttle solenoid. Replace if
necessary.
Check throttle relay; replace if necessary.
Free governor and lubricate if necessary.
Move further from obstruction.
Check engine oil level; Refer to the Engine
Owner's Manual; replenish as necessary.
Clean engine intake grill.
Adjust speed.
Check engine oil level; Refer to the Engine
Owner's Manual; replenish as necessary.
Check fuel gauge. Fill as necessary.
Reduce demand/Turn off one function.
Adjust idle to proper speed.
Check spark plug and replace if necessary.
Refer to the Engine Owner's Manual.
Check throttle solenoid; replace if
necessary.
Check throttle relay; replace if necessary.
Check system fuse; replace if necessary.
Replace pilot valve.
Replace pressure switch.
Drain and replace fuel supply.
Use only gasoline—do not use E85, etc.
Refer to Engine Owner's Manual for
information on engine fuel type to use.
