1.0 Safety Introduction to Safety This section contains general safety instructions for installing and using ADB SAFEGATE equipment. Some safety instructions may not apply to the equipment in this manual. Task- and equipment-specific warnings are included in other sections of this manual where appropriate.
Note To minimize the risk of errors, the ADB SAFEGATE Sales Representative will have information on which gasket goes with which base. This information is also provided in the product Data sheets, the User Manuals and the Spare Part Lists.
2.0 About this Manual This document includes information on the RELIANCE omnidirectional 8-inch inset light fixture with a focus on safety, installation and maintenance procedures. For more information, see www.adbsafegate.com. Note It is very important to read this document before any work is started.

• Available with IR as an option Accessories Refer to the RELIANCE inset user manual for 8-inch lights. Power Supply An integrated, encapsulated 6.6A electronic converter. Two-pole L-823 FAA Style 6 (2-pin) plug for connection to the transformer. Power factor typically > 0.95 at 6.6 A. Power consumption 35 W.

Maintenance and Installation Refer to the RELIANCE inset user manual for 8-inch lights and to the interoperability information for installation in a specific base.
If the inset light fixture is to be installed on another type of base or adapter ring not provided by ADB SAFEGATE, contact ADB SAFEGATE. The inset light fixture is fixed in the base by six M10 lock nuts or by six M10×25 or M10×22 bolts dependent on base installation.
Intelligent Lighting system using an SIU. The SIU communicates the detect/no-detect status signals as well as its own status to the series circuit in the same manner as the RELIANCE IQ. The SIU is also connected to the secondary side of a standard isolation transformer using a standard 2-pin FAA-style connector.
RELIANCE IQ is delivered as a pre-programmed unit with field position information and monitor / control parameter settings. The RELIANCE IQ can also be programmed during maintenance or updated remotely from the sub-station if installed in a circuit using the Wake on Circuit function.

Using the cable supplied (RS-232), connect the shorter cable end with LOAD / RESET (591836) to the PC and the longer cable end to the LPC. Note : The Short Circuit Plug should be 1. Using the cable supplied (594115), connect to Output 1 or Output 2 to a RELIANCE IQ product. connected to the output NOT in use, either Output 1 or Output 2. The two outputs are connected in series to give equal functionality.

10. From the LPU Manager tab, enter the PID number in the text field, manually or by using a bar code reader. Note The number corresponds to the product information number found on the bottom of the RELIANCE IQ, as in the previous step.

If the unit without fault, click OK and the unit is now ready to use. 15. Disconnect the RELIANCE IQ product cable. 16. Turn off the SCM, LPC for at least 30 seconds to fully power down the RELIANCE IQ or when no more RELIANCE IQ products are to be configured.
RELIANCE RELIANCE The extent of use of all RELIANCE IQ functionality is determined by the application. All functionality described in this document is not necessarily used at a specific installation. This section is a summary of common functionality available in RELIANCE IQ.
5.9.4 Command Memory When current in the series circuit is lost if a CCR is turned off or for any other reason, RELIANCE IQ remembers the current lamp status for a limited amount of time. The IQ can be configured to, once current is restored in the circuit, set the lamp to the remembered state, typically the last commanded state before a power loss.

Important Use of incorrect combination of gaskets, bolts and nuts can create severe damages to the product installation and create multiple safety risks.

Using unapproved equipment in an approved system may void FAA approvals. Observe and follow the safety instructions in this document and all other related documentation.
