Step 5 Install Hard Drives,
SCSI Hard Drive Carrier Insertion Align the hot-swappable SCSI hard drive carrier with the guide rails
inside the bay. Slide the hot swap hard drive chassis back into the hot swap bay with the
faceplate half way down. Once it is fully inserted, you can push the faceplate in the
upright position. This will insert the drive into the backplane.

Step 6 Power On

Press the power button on the front of the chassis to power on the StorTrends 1312. Do
not use the power button located on the back of the chassis.

Warning
The bottom of the faceplate for the hot-swappable SCSI
hard drive carrier has two plastic tabs. These tabs must
make contact with the two corresponding holes located
on the bottom part of the hot swap bay. If you insert the
drive with the faceplate in the upright position, you will
damage these two tabs.
Repeat the process for your desired configuration.
