RS-232 Output

An &pin modular type RJ-45 jack labeled RS-232 is provided
on the rear panel for transmission of alarm codes to AD Matrix
Switchers/Controllers. The pin definitions are:
2
4
5
7
The DuoTect-C RS-232 port can be connected to a Matrix
Switcher/Controller RS-232 port using the supplied modular
cable (JJOO07) if the distance between the units is no further
than seven feet.
If the distance exceeds seven feet, an &pin Terminal Box
Box is connected to the DuoTect-C RS-232 port with the
supplied 550007 cable. The maximum cable length between
the Switcher/Controller and the Terminal Box is 1000 feet,
using 18-AWG shielded cable, Belden 8770 or equivalent.
All American Dynamics units are configured as DTE devices.
For DTE-to-DTE communications between the DuoTect-C and
a Switcher/Controller port:
XMIT
pin of the Switcher/Controller is connected to
RCD
(pin 4) of the DuoTect-C .
RCD
pin of the Switcher/Controller is connected to
Ground
the
of the Switcher/Controller is connected to
GND
(pin 7) of the DuoTect-C .
Refer to the Appendix, page I, for typical RS232 connection.

Power Connection

The required power source is indicated on the rear panel of
each unit. Plug the pendant 3-wire cord into a mating power
source.

CHANNEL Pushbuttons

The channel select buttons designate which video signal is
routed to Output 1 when the AD1562 is set for
operation, see Video Output Selection, page 16.
CH 1
Selects the video from channel 1 to Output 1.
CH 2
Selects the video from channel 2 to Output 1.
Each button contains a red LED indicator which is illuminated
when that channel is selected, or flashes when that channel is
in alarm see Alarm Operation, page 16.
The channel select buttons are also used to start automatic
input sequencing, see Automatic Sequence Operation, page 16,
and to acknowledge alarms, see Alarm Clearance, page 17.

ALARM Pushbutton

The ALARM button enables (arms) or disables (disarms) the
when alarms are not present. The ALARM button contains a
red LED which is illuminated when alarms are enabled. When
an alarm is activated by detected motion, the ALARM LED
flashes and the ALARM button also serves as a Manual
Acknowledge button (see Alarm Clearance, page 17).

MENU Pushbutton

The MENU button switches the DuoTect-C into menu setup
programming (see SETUP, pages 4 - 15). When this button is
pressed, the system is disarmed (if armed), the Passcode menu
is displayed on Output 1, and the red MENU LED is
illuminated. The MENU button is also used within each menu
for specific setup actions. This button is disabled when an
alarm is active.

Arrow Pushbuttons

The four arrow buttons are used for setup and menu functions:
to move the cursor in configuring detection zone patterns, to
move the cursor up or down in the menus, or to change
parameter values in the menus. When an arrow button is held
in, the cursor moves until the button is released. See pages 4
through 15 for specific button actions.
The up button moves the cursor up.
The down button moves the cursor down.
(Left)
The left button moves the cursor left. In menus,
this button changes the selected parameter's value
to the previous value.
The right button moves the cursor right. In
